Hello Community,

I am doing another build for my dad. He works overseas over in Tbilisi, Georgia and when he gets home, I don't want him to have a crappy computer. So I am building him a new one. I have chosen the components in the following link: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1S45x The budget is $500, but the components cost $525 but with rebates they cost $447. Whenever he's home, he surfs the web, checks email, watches videos, and very basic stuff. Are the components compatible? I want him to have a FAST computer such as 3 GHZ and above. If you think I'm spending too much then please let me know. I don't want to waste my parent's money. I am using and ssd because I want the boot-up to be really fast. PLEASE tell me any suggestions or things I shouldn't be doing as I know about the parts and all, but I am still a rookie in some areas. Thanks in advance!

Two things:
Skip the 32 gb SSD drive, that's going to create too many problems and it will be full after OS, updates, and Office.
Get at least a 128 GB. You might want to skip the platter drive and go with a 240-256 GB SSD drive, they retail for about $160~.

The board doesn't natively support the DDR3 1600 ram. It supports DDR3-1066/1333. Basically, it will slow your ram down. It would be better to go with 2 4gb sticks than a single 8 gb stick. Might also be a bit less expensive too.

Ok so I have updated the parts and here's the link: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1S7v0 Btw, 120 GB is the highest I can go for the ssd. Will it be enough for just the os on there and SOME antivirus and stuff. The rest will be on the 500 GB HDD Drive. I have chosen a better motherboard that is in my budget and it also has Sata 6 as the Samsung SSD has Sata 6 speeds. These parts cost $492.97 and with rebate it will cost $462.97. Are these good parts and are they compatible? Any last suggestions? Thanks in advance!

If you are not going to add a GPU in later, you should consider getting A8-5600k, FM2 mobo and 2x4GB 1600MHz RAM instead of the FX-4130, AM3+ mobo and 1x8GB RAM.

BTW, is the $500 including OS? Do you still need the speakers?

My dad works for the U,S Government so he can get an operating system for like $50 hard copy. I would like the speakers, but can remove them if my dad doesn't REALLY need them. Btw, I changed the Ram to 2 sticks of 4g 1866 MHz ram. I'm an AMD rookie so please explain why the processor you chose is better than the one I chose. Isn't FX newer than the A series? What's the difference between AM3+ motherboards vs. FM2? Which processor is better and why? Also, I don't plan on overclocking either if that's what you're thinking. Sorry for the question, but I'm curious. Thanks in advance.

Mainly the graphic cores in the A8 APU is much more powerful than the IPG on the AM3+ mobo chipset.
