Hi,

If I use 4 4GB RAM with a motherboard and processor that support quad channel, would I be able to utilize all the 4 channels. Or is there any quad channel memory that has to be used? Last time when I posted a similar question I was told that quad channel means I have to use 4 sticks. But the one I have listed below looks a lot cheaper compared to the ones available but I am not sure if I buy 4 of this, I could make use of quad channel efficiently.

Kingston KVR1600D3S4R11S/4G DDR3-1600 4GB ECC/REG CL11 Server Memory - is the one I am planning to buy.

Another question, is there any performance gain in using unbuffered memory instead of registered?

Processor - E5 2630 V2, Motherboard - asus p9x79 e ws

Thanks
