What OS do you recommend for the following build? I am not an expert on software so I would like to get one that would be the most stable.

CPU Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core
CPU Cooler Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing
Motherboard Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD3H ATX LGA1150
Memory G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2133
Storage Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM
Video Card XFX Radeon HD 7950 3GB (
Case NZXT Phantom 410 (White) ATX Mid Tower
Power Supply Rosewill 650W ATX12V / EPS12V
Optical Drive Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer

Thanks for your input!!!

Windows 8/8.1 is superior.

The ONLY big issue is the new interface and you can get Start8 for $5 to avoid this.

I'm not sure what these many issues supposedly are but that's certainly not typical. I've tried many, many different programs and I can verify 311 games out of 314 games that I have tested work just fine.

You will actually be missing out by NOT having Windows 8 installed as it adds security improvements, many other things and will be fully compatible with DX11.2.

I recommend Windows 7 as Windows 8 is nearly unusable in many different ways. This isn't limited to the interface (though I'm no fan of it), there are several other fundamental flaws in Windows 8, with more introduced in 8.1.

Well here is why I like Windows 8.1
Boots faster than 7, windows explorer has many new features, you can mount ISO's in windows explorer, you can pause file transfers, refreshing your PC if you run into a problem is a lot easier, taking screenshots is easier, better use of mulitple monitors, etc
