Im looking for a wireless network card driver for a Advent 7113 laptop. The laptop originally came with vista when i brought it new, but when upgrading to windows 7 it now refuses to connect to the wireless network. this is not a problem with a wrong network key as other devices (computers, phones, ps3) all work fine under that key, its just this laptop. I don't know a great deal about computers but Im assuming that the driver for the wireless network card is out of date or not compatible with windows 7 and needs an updated driver for windows 7. iv looked all over the internet with no luck so far. any help will be much appreciated.

Windows 7 is better at identifying and finding drivers than Vista ever was so have a look in Control Panel>Device Manager>Network Adapters to check if the wi-fi adapter has a valid driver before assuming it's that which is causing the problem. If it is, or if you haven't done it before anyway, connect a cable from the laptop to the router and turn W7 loose on teh Net to find the right driver.

If all else fails, back in Device Manager right click the adapter and go to Properties then click on the Details tab, then scroll to Hardware IDs and note down the four characters after VEN for Vendor and the four which follow DEV for Device. Go to http://www.pcidatabase.com and input those details in the relevant boxes and you will see the list of all the right manufacturer's products but sadly, they aren't in order. Use Internet Explorers Edit menu then Find to type in the DEVice ID and the search will find the correct entry. Follow the link to the site for the correct driver and download it.
