Hi, im building my PC in a while (xmas) I already have a 520s12ii psu and a CM Storm Scout 2 Mid Tower. I was thinking what would be the better build (on a budget)

PC 1
CPU: Intel Core i5 3570k
MB: Asus P8Z77 M Pro

PC 2
CPU: Intel Core i7 3770 (non k)
MB: Gigabyte GA-B75M-HD3

Other Parts (same for the both)
Ram: Corsair Vengeance 4gb x 2 1600Mhz
HDD: WD Blue 1TB
GPU: EVGA GTX 760 SC ACX 2gb

I will use this for my Architecture stuff (Sketchup, CAD, 3dsMax, Photoshop) and High end gaming

The B75 chipset is not something I would recommend for an I7. Take the I5 3570K + the Z77 Asus. This way you can put a mild overclock without breaking a sweat which is going to close the gap between the I5 and I7 that you have mentioned. Also B75 has only 2 slots for RAM modules. Here is the other thing - 8GB are solely too little for CAD, Max and Photoshop (specially Photoshop). 16 is what I recommend as a user of Maya, After Effects and Photoshop on a daily basis, but it comes down to how complex your projects are. Anyway with the Asus you have 4 RAM slots, so you can always throw in some extra RAM down the road.

2nd this is that the Asus board has better power design and thicker PCB. This are signs that are usually the main factors...

Choice of Asus board is for sure.

When you build a new one, first go for Asus in choice of board. No board can beat Asus in features and performance.

Gigabyte won't go a good choice, no matter even if you add the i7 cpu.

If you are on CAD, Photoshop and Gaming, think for 4x4GB(16GB) as the start-up memory. 8GB isn't enough for your work.

3rd is the WB blue drive. WB and specially their Green/Blue line is low quality, poor HDDs. I would strongly suggest to turn to a Hitachi drive (slightly more expensive) or at least a Seagate.

Final one - throw in a Cooler Master hyper 212 EVO in there. It can be found for around 30$ or less than 30 euro (I took mine from a store at a price of 26 EUR with no rebates/promotions or any price reduction whatsoever). This will significantly lower your CPU temperatures and also it's quieter than the Intel stock. Lower CPU temps means longer turbo boosts, less strain on the CPU, but also the CPU will draw less wattage (My I7 2700k draws 80W at full load at 74C and 72W at full load at 52C which is comparison Stock Intel cooler vs Hyper 212 evo), less strain on the motherboard and healthier hardware overall.

Good luck.

I wouldn't recommend the B75 motherboard, if your going to pare it with a higher end CPU like the 3570K. If you do so, you should just be bottlenecking your self for no good reason.

It's easier to swap and CPU then a whole mobo, so if I were you I would get the Asus Z77 motherboard. With that as your motherboard, I would recommend going with one of the i5 and in the best case the 3570K.

Note: Depending on what you plan on doing with the computer, you might want to consider the i7 if you are going to steam gameplay.

I personally dont buy anything other than WD and I've never had a problem with them. I would personally get the Black edition if I could, but I would get a cheaper drive if it means an additional SSD.

I see, thank you sir! I'm getting the 3570k then will upgrade the ram in the future (ram price is really high right now) i suggested the two because of the price, its the same price (i7 slightly lower)

As for the HD, I will follow you and take the higher end HD (black) saw the warranty, its for 5 years!

Again I can't thank you enough!
