motherboard

EPoX EP-5EGMI - motherboard - micro ATX - i915GL

BIOS Version/Date: Phoenix Technologies, LTD 6.00 PG, 28.07.2005

Solution
The new cpu does not work with your MB even you update the BIOS. Because the MB has 915GL chipset, and the new cpu only can work with at least 945 Chipset MB.
Here is info. Intel® Pentium® D Processor 925 COMPATIBLE PRODUCTS: http://ark.intel.com/products/27517/

True, the 910/915 only supports single core processors. You can try getting a Pentium 4 with Hyperthreading, almost as good as a Pentium D.
