Hi guys,
I had my mind set on an AMD gaming set-up. After some advise from you guys previously i have decided to save a bit of money and go for an intel system instead. I do however need some further advise.

My main use of this system will be for gaming therefore:

i5 or i7?
I look to save money on a processor and spend a nice £200 or so on a GPU.

I really like the look and the reviews on the asus ROG motherboards. I was thinking this mobo :
http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/MAXIMUS_IV_EXTREMEZ/

this is because my friend has one which he has had for around 3 months and will sell to me for a bargain of £60.

I am unsure on which CPU's will work with this mobo.

If anybody could give me an ideal set-up including 8 GB ram using this mobo and either an i5 or i7 that would be great.

If your willing to also recommend a graphics card/ SLI set up for around £200

I have a Sapphire 7850 Hd OC 2GB GDDR5 card laying about which i would like to incorporate if possible.

Would like games to run as close to ultra as possible.

Thanks in advance guys

i5 or i7 - the difference is 4 virtual /HT/ cores (and each one of them is about 40% of a normal core/...

what will you choose depends mostly on the usage - what do you want to do?

>Play games? watch movies? do the 'normal' stuff? - an i5 is sufficient...
>Make videos/stream your games? fool around with 3D rendering? rip BD? virtualize? - go for i7 and don't ask questions...

>Overclock like crazy? - K processor and a good cooler...
>Just use it for the time being? - normal /non K/ processor is just fine...

PS: That board of yours supports second gen intel processors - i5 2500, or i7 2600/2700 would be viable options if you choose to get it. Personally I cannot say one bad word about the i7 2600K, but if I were to get a CPU now, I'd consider the 4th gen - i5 4670 or i7 4770 K or non K...
