Hi,
I want to upgrade my CPU to an AMD FX-8350, but I'm not sure if my Gigabyte GA-970a-D3 supports it. I have looked at some websites, as well as the CPU compatibility chart at gigabyte.com, but different sources provided different answers. So, can anybody tell me if my MOBO supports this CPU?
Thanks

It should work just fine. Your mobo supports AM3+ chipset, which is what the FX-8350 belongs to. You will likely need a BIOS update however. But other than that you are good to go.

EDIT:
The reason why it doesn't appear on the support list linked above is because that list is for BIOS revisions 1.0/1.1. You will need revision 1.4 or higher to support FX-8350.

So, I'll just update the BIOS and I'm good to go?
