Looking for a 7970 to replace the unlocked 1gb 6950 msi card. Came across a powercolor ax7970 v3 for 269$ with a 20$ mail in rebate

Kinda worried about it being a powercolor. It's an non-oc, non ghz e.
I guess my question is is the 50$ less than an 280x saphire or msi a good deal or is powercolor a headache to which the 50$ on a saphire is well worth it?

My unlocked 6950 is running into vram problems.

I'm also interested to hear whether this is a good value. An XFX DD 7970 3GB deal made front page on Slickdeals a few days ago. This is the same price, also dual fan, also a 7970 3GB, but PowerColor -- and it's nowhere to be found.

Are the cards that different?

I'd hate to bump (bad forum mojo), but given the deal could go OOS (like a 7950 deal I was tracking), I'd sure like to get an answer!
