Dual Lan purposes?

Why do mobos support dual-Lan capability?

I'm not limited by 1Gb Internet...but am trying to find uses for the 2nd Lan port.

Let's say I have two desktop computers, and I want to have a window on the 1st computer that is mirroring part of the desktop of the 2nd?

Can I make that happen with the 2nd Lan running on a local network? I assume the latency would be lower b/c it won't use outside internet but I'm not sure how that would work/to set up...

Thanks for all the help!

hate to say this but what you want to do is not really possible, usually the second Nic (Lan port) is mostly used for servers or internet connection sharing. On a server you would use one to connect to the internet and the other your internal network for such things as a firewall or router or even a vpn server, if you want to get technical you can use Nic teaming to double bandwidth or incase on fails (failover) but like I said before, these are mostly options available on server os's except for internet connection sharing witch you can do with standard windows os's

I know this is not the answer you were looking for but I hope this helped you understand what it is there for
