I have 3 Gigabyte cards but would suggest the Sapphire card. Halfway through purchasing my crossfire setup Gigabyte changed their PCB design and locked the voltage on my 2nd card. >.<
Read that Vapor-X is noisy. Also which is the more powerful card? Vapor-X is with lower clock speeds than Gigabyte. But with higher memory clock than Gigabyte or something like that. I don't really care about the design. I want to know which card is more powerful (Pretty sure that there isn't a big difference.)
Actually scratch that, I just saw the Twin Frozr Edition, and I would HIGHLY recommend that, cool and practically silent at full load.
*edit* and this is the Twin Frozr 3 on the GTX 660, so the newer version must be even better!
their all the same power... clock them to the same core and memory clocks and they will perform 99.9% the same. the only difference between them is the cooler and how loud and hot they get under full load.
The best card and cooler for this card is the HIS R9 280X iPower IceQ X Boost Clock http://amzn.to/H30csZ The IceQ is by far the best cooler for the 7950/7970 which translates to it being the best for the R9 280X.
Actually under full load the Vapor-X is 35dBa and the Gigabyte is 44dBa, so the Vapor-X is actually a lot quieter. And as far as temps under load the Gigabyte is 75C and the Vapor-X is 63C
Between those two cards my choice would be the Sapphire Radeon VAPOR-X R9 280X http://amzn.to/1eO2Zlv Sapphire is the most reputable manufacturer of AMD cards and the Vapor-X cooler is quite efficient. Sapphire cards tend to be be easiest to reach high OC's but if you don't plan to OC then your best option is to go with the Gigabyte R9 280X WF http://amzn.to/1dn7SnT since it has higher clocks out of the box. ...that rhymed.
Toxic is not available in my country. But is there any big diffrence between Gigabyte and Vapor-X and would you recommend Vapor-X since it's with lower clock?
I bought the Vapor-x recently, the fans ramp up pretty fast, but the noise isn't as bad as most people say. The card also looks awesome! Here's a quick little video to show the how pretty the card actually is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9NG0saXxr7o
