The best one I can find is the GS 600W http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-Gaming-Series-Edition-B... But there are a lot of noise issues. I need the PSU to be compatible with the R9 280X and the Z87-G43.

The connectors that the L8 600W has are:
1 x 4+4pin CPU +12V
4 x 4pin Molex
4 x 6+2pin PCI-E Power
1 x FDD Power
5 x SATA Power

And the R9 280X needs '1 x 6-pin + 1 x 8-pin' does that mean it's incompatible with the PSU?

According to the website here:

http://www.bequiet.com/en/powersupply/388

(under Technical date/cable management)

the PSU has 4X 6+2 GPU connectors, so you should be okay - just miss out the +2 part of the connection on separate wire. Some PSUs do it this way.

What would I do with the +2 part? Just leave it there not plugged in to anything?

Despite the be quiet! claim of the L8 series being Haswell ready you shouldn't believe their marketing hype.

TechPowerUp.com found during their review of a be quiet! L8 500W model:

Quote:
Be Quiet! claims it is Haswell ready, and the PSU works fine according to their testing in real Haswell systems, the results I acquired by following Intel's official testing procedure for Haswell compliance say otherwise as the unit failed to keep all of its rails in spec.

That type of unbalanced rail behavior indicates that the PSU is based on the old group regulated circuit design.
