Question about gpu..

I recently got a gtx 650 and was getting a black screen... everything is running but i have an lcd monitor and was wondering whether it was because i was connecting my vga to the crt slot on the gpu? D: if i got an adapter for dvi would it then possibly work?

F01004 Seasonic SS-350TGM 350W PFC 80PLUS Gold Power Supply
Intel HD graphics 2000(wanting to put my gtx 650 in)
