My screen is damaged on my Acer laptop. I have another laptop (Dell) with a dvd and would like to use the dvd to record/burn the files from my broken screen lap top to cds or dvds, how is this done using Windows 7 on both PCS? The laptop with the dvd is a dell Inspiron and the laptop with the files that I'd like to have Cd's of is a Acer One netbook

This is the system I've used for years for such things http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA1KT0UA0914 (new and updated version)which allows you to use any hard drive outside of it's intended environment. Just take the old Hard drive out and plug it into the appropriate connector and plug in the USB, your computer will recognize it as an additional drive.
You could also get a 2.5" external hard drive enclosure that works from USB (and external power) and put the old hard drive in that.
