Hey,

I'm building a new custom desktop PC to replace my current Packard Bell. I'd like to know what improvements I could make to the build to get better performance and value for money. I already own the PSU, RAM and GPU, so ideally (to save money) i'd like to keep them in the build. However, I am considering running 3 monitors and I don't think my 1GB 7850 is up to doing this - so GPU suggestions are welcome. I don't mind whether the GPU is Nvidia or AMD, as long as it will run 3 monitors for gaming on 1080p on high settings, i'm happy! :)

The build list: http://gyazo.com/47287e2a8a5eeeef654c9a8b89b9eb76 (PC Partpicker)

I should also mention I do alot of graphic work in the adobe suite, and video editing/rendering in Sony Vegas. (If you're wondering why i'm going with an i7 4770k)

Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Dan

2 thing I suggest -

Firstly, i you are working with Adobe products, they do use CUDA cores more effectively than AMD's Stream processors. So I suggest this one
Gigabyte Geforce GTX 660 2GB Windforce 2X GPU - http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvn660oc2gd

It is just another £10 and is more powerful, whilst using just one 6 pin PCI-E connector. It's even known to best an old GTX 580 in benchmarks.

Secondly, I recommend this PSU, which is more reliable, higher quality and is cheaper -

XFX Core series 550w 80+ Bronze certified PSU - http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1550sxxb9

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help, dottorrent. Do you know if the GTX 660 2GB you suggested be able to run games on 3 monitors at high/ultra settings? Will it do a better job for this purpose than my 7850?

I would very much doubt that. It's geared for 1080P gaming. If you want a card that will run 3 monitor gaming no problem, you need 2 AMD Radeon R9 280Xs and a high quality 850w PSU.

To answer your second question, Yes. The GTX 660 is more powerful than the HD 7850 and uses less power whilst gaming.
