windows 7 64 bit takes up too much memory

boot up in safe mode using f8 with network support. run malware bytes scan and check to see if you have more then one anti virus program running or more then one malware program running. use msconfig see what loading at start up. on most pc all you need is your anti virus. turn off apple and java updates..check for toolbar and non needed programs. run ccleaner clean up your hard drive and run defrag. run hdtune use the health tab make sure your hard drive is healthy. use cpu-z check that your ram speed running right.

How much memory do you have installed? 64-bit Windows will run on 2 GB, but will be very slow while doing so. I'd recommend 4 GB or more.
