So the R9 290X should be releasing tomorrow right? Where can I buy the BF4 edition? Newegg? What about pricing? Anything lol.

the media blackout is lifted on the 24th, it's already on sale in europe. Prices in euros place it at 539.99 for the BF4 edition, and 499.99 for the plain edition. Of course thats in euros. that said with VAT taxes, usually prices directly translate into dollars (the 7990 was released in europe at 999.99 euros, same price in the usa), so the BF4 edition will probably sell for 539.99-549.99 in the usa.

well..... with multiple confirmed benchmarks out today it is plainly clear now that the 290x is indeed faster than the titan, the 290 faster than a 780, and with the $550 and $450 respective msrp, it is a great day for enthusiasts. let the price wars begin.

I wouldn't say it's plainly clear.

Have you read all of the reviews? Tom's Hardware has a review up that shows the 290X outperforming the Titan in some games, but most of the other reviews show the R9 is infact NOT faster than the Titan, but faster than the GTX 780.

I'm not putting the card down by the way, despite its heat issues I'll be buying one, maybe wait for an after-market cooler version.

thats cause your compairing mature drivers vs beta ones give it some time and im sure the 290X will be on top.

They called me up (looking to make a sale no doubt) and are selling limited stock on first come first serve. So if you're in the UK and interested, give them a call quickly and you might snag one!

ok fine... maybe the titan is faster in a game like starcraft... but the 290x is notably faster in bf3, skyrim, crysis 3, bioshock.... all the games that really matter... nobody buys a titan/290x to play counterstrike when the titan holds a 40fps lead over the 290x... 255fps vs 215fps... those benchmarks dont count in my book.... unless your playing with a 240hz refresh rate.

monster side note.... amd is doing this without an official whql driver..... these are very early beta drivers... if history for nvidia/amd is any indicator... you can expect a 5% boost across the board within the next 6 months... which nvidia has already done with the gk110.

im not siding with amd.... im just looking forward to the price wars where everybody wins whether you buy nvidia or amd.
