Ok folks, I'm at my wits end. It seems as if I've tried every possible connection and no luck.

The equipment:
TV - Panasonic Viera TC - L32X1
Receiver - Yamaha RX-700A
Cable (Dish Network) is in the second room, so it's coming through a coax w/ F connector
Speakers - some left over ones (they work...I can get sound through them through the receiver via radio tuner).

The receiver works - when connected to tv via components and/or HDMI, I can get the receiver's GUI to appear on the tv screen when I select the right input on the TV (but no sound or picture).

Solution
All in one systems like the creative labs are probably meant to stay together. My only thought would be to use a RCA to 3.5mm stereo cable to go from your recievers pre-outs to the the proper ports on the creative sub (which will have the speakers attached to them). It will probably take some guess work to figure out which are left and right.

Also I would like to add that I'm no pro in home theater audio and there is a chance you could break your equipment.

For all the trouble your going through I would try to sell the creative speakers and get a box set of home audio speakers. Something like this

Or sell them both and get the Logitech z906...

I have coax to tv, then components and HDMI to receiver (I know I only need one of those, just trying both). On receiver, the only coax nipple is for FM. I tried anyway with no luck, so I'm guessing that the coax is going to have to be connected to the tv and go from there for this to work (assuming it's possible).

I would say that you TV doesn't pass the coax sound through the hdmi. Does your TV have an optical out? Usually if your going to hook up all your stuff to your tv, you take an optical out to the reciever.

Also make sure that your TV is set to pass the audio to an external source. (some but not all tv's have a setting for this)

It does have a digital optical out and of course it's the one cable I don't have laying around the house. Will plan on picking one up and seeing if that helps with progress.

Failed to mention my speakers....they're the Creative Labs T7700 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836116140

The speakers work when plugged directly into the receiver, but don't get real loud - should I plug them into sub like they're supposed to be, then figure out a way to hook into receiver from there? If so, any ideas?
