Hi, I'm planning to buy Palit Geforce GT640 for my brother. because my old 9500gt is enough for this year and he really wants to play like farcry 3,saint row 4 and GTA 5 with no lags. should i buy? or recommend me any GPU cards

Solution
nope. the 640 is a very low end card... which i guess is ok, as it's paired with a sorta low end cpu... so it's a good match i guess.

unfortunately he won't be playing any of those games on low settings at 1080p with either the card or cpu. get him a 7770, a 7790 or a 650tiBOOST/7850 and the gpu side of things will be good enough. then if he has issues with the titles you'll know it's the cpu.

The 640 is a pretty low-end card. What kind of power supply does your brother have? What kind of processor does he have? What kind of budget do you have?

With the information above a would recommend a 7870/760 or higher.. but that is from what I know! Please update me and I will do my best to help:)

UPDATE: Oh snap.. just read the title. It shouldn't bottleneck the GPU but if you want to play those games without lag you won't be very happy. That CPU is pretty weak and so is that GPU. But if you can fit the 640 it would be better then nothing.
