PC crashing during any game..need help!!

When ever im playing any game, my pc seems to shut it self down after playing 2-5min. Iv tryed may things too fix this problem but just cant.
PC specs:
AMD FX-6100 Siz-Core 3.3ghz 14MB cache socket AM3+.
ASUS M5A78L- LX PLUS AMD 760G with ATI 3000.
8GB of DDR3 Ram.
Tb HDD.
HD 5770
500w psu
any help would b grate

What brand is your PSU? Have you cleaned your case out recently? Dust and dirt buildup can really add a lot of extra heat.

That PSU is probably your issue. Unknown brands tend to over-rate their PSU ratings. I would imagine that unit puts out about half of what it's advertised as.

There are better name brands, like Seasonic and Corsair that will put out strong, clean power.

The Seasonic S12II 520w is a great choice for around $60.

But the thing is i used it on my old pc which had the the same hd5770, had no problems i live in new zealand
and psu r around 100+ :o .. thanks for the help soo far

It's best not to skimp on your PSU though. Bad units can put out dirty power and cause other components to fail or even be damaged.

A high quality 450-500w unit will probably work just fine.

Yes there are a handful of good PSU brands. Seasonic, Corsair, XFX, Antec, Silverstone, OCZ, and even Cooler Master.

The other possible causes would be dirty (noisy) power coming from the mains, or overheating due to dust buildup inside the case.
