I have a Dell Vostro 420, 4GB ram, 250gb HD,500 External, Ati V3800 Graphics card, running Windows Vista Business 32bit, from what I've found out the G-force 640GT or the AMD radeon HD 5450 are the 2 maximum cards avaliable for my machine, I read where I would have to upgrade the PS to at least a 450w, would I also have to purchase the Windows 7 (pro) upgrade as well? I didn't want to spend anymore $ at present. Because at that point I'd trade it off and get an Alienware machine or equal. Thank's Patrick

Get the GT 640 over the 5450 it is much better if you need a new psu I would suggest this.

about the OS thing I don't think you should have to change to windows 7 but if you do why pro? just go home premium its cheaper.
Hope I was some use to you good luck with your upgrade.

Depending on the CPU in the system, you can get a Radeon 6670 or a 7750, either will run just fine on your power supply. Looks to be 350 watts. You don't have to upgrade to Windows 7 unless you don't like how your system runs now.
