I need some advice choosing between the following two builds for a med-high (@720p) gaming pc / htpc:

AMD Build:
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: AMD A10-6800K 4.1GHz Quad-Core Processor ($144.99 @ Canada Computers)
CPU Cooler: Xigmatek CAC-D9HH3-U01 48.0 CFM CPU Cooler ($35.49 @ Newegg Canada)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-F2A85XN-WIFI Mini ITX FM2 Motherboard ($99.99 @ Memory Express)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LP 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($60.98 @ Newegg Canada)
Case: Inwin BP671.200BL Mini ITX Tower Case w/200W Power Supply ($74.89 @ Newegg Canada)
Total: $416.34
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

The goal of this build is to do med-high 720p gaming, emulators and streamed media. Everything needs to roughly fit the size of Inwin case in the builds (a restriction of our furniture). Hard drive and OS are already purchased. I am interested in having good upgrade possibilities.

The AMD APU originally caught my eye because of the hybrid crossfire feature with an HD 7750. This would be an immediate upgrade should the APU performance not be enough. However, the tom's hardware review of hybrid crossfire suggests a single 7750 is commonly at parity and much better in practice than the APU+7750. So, I wonder if going the Intel route makes more sense.

I guess my question is: does anyone have any confidence that the APU + 7750 performance problems (frame times) will be ironed out anytime in the near future? does anyone have personal insights into this combination? I've watched near everything on youtube, and the 30fps youtube clips of the APU+7750 look pretty awesome.. Should I just go with the pentium build with discreet GPU hoping for more powerful low-profile cards to come in the future? Im not sure why but getting the APU now and adding the 7750 in the future feels like the best value.. but I'm just not sure its the smartest decision.

Thanks.

well, i see a problem with that, are you planning on upgrading that psu? because there is no way you're going to run either of those on a 200w.

the apu graphics aren't great which means that you would have to get that graphics card.
i would save that money for the graphics card that you would put into the AMD build, get the intel build but upgrade the pentium g to an i3 or i5.

the 7750 is a good graphics card though, don't let anyone tell you otherwise, and they will.

Well, I figured I would be good with the 200w supply until I needed to add the 7750 to the AMD build. Pcpartpicker estimates the needs of each system to be <160W. This tomshardware build also gave me hope that the 200w would be enough: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/mini-itx-do-it-yourself-game-console,3531.html
However, I am not sure of the quality of the inwin vs antec included PS.

settled on a G3220, a different case with a 300w powersupply (still by Inwin) and the HD7750. seems like it will be a decent little livingroom pc for 720p gaming, hopefully with enough upgradability when the time comes.

Thanks for your help.
