I recently built a new gaming build and decided to go with a vertex 3 ssd and bought a HDD upgrade being a barracuda 1tb. My ssd was only 60gb and was just enough to fit my OS (windows 8) and WoW the only game I am worried about. How can I get it so that all other downloads and/or programs go straight to my HDD and not my SSD due to available space.

Thanks in Advance

You can change your Windows default Documents, Downloads, Videos, Pictures and Music Folder to the folders you made on you HDD by changing the target folder in W7 and W8. Installation folder by editing the registry.

I think what this guy is asking is how does he make the HDD as his C drive? I'd like to know too because my next build has an OS SSD and then I will have an HDD as my C drive... And most installation programs are designed to install directly to C drive.

there isn't a way sadly. :(
you will have to physically change it on everything you download from (torrents, google chrome, internet explorer)
it can get annoying, buy you should only have to do it once.
try and make folders on your desktop, too. that way things will go to the hdd rather then the ssd.

Darn. I used to have a laptop that had the drive broken into multiple partitions (God knows why) and it had one part of the drive labelled as "OS:" and then there was a seperate "C:" partition

Yeah I never understood why MS changed it. Under Windows XP you could just right click and change the location of the My Documents folder. You would still need to tell every program to install to the seperate partition but your downloads and documents would be set.
