I'm planning on going out and getting the R9 280X as it is a pretty good deal over here. I was thinking of getting the MSI or gigabyte one. I really don't have a lot of components in my PC so I was wondering if my power supply would be enough. I know a similar question was asked on this thread but I have different hardware so I would like this answered.
Here are my specs:
fx 6300@4.2ghz using 1.39v
1gb 7850
7200 rpm hdd
ASUS M5A97 r2.0
8gb ddr3 (4gbx2)
SeaSonic S12II 520 Bronze 520w psu
3 case fans.
As you can see, not really that much in there. No optical drive installed as I use USB HDD's for backup. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That might be around 430-450 watts of power draw. A seasonic 520 can definitely handle it.

As for the bottleneck, a hexacore 4.2ghz shouldn't bottleneck that card at all.

Thanks for the reply. I would normally upgrade my psu but I just bought this one recently. Power supplies are also pretty expensive where I live. If I went for the MSI, how much power (approx) would I be using all together? Also, the FX 6300 at 4.2ghz won't bottleneck it, right?

So I picked the best answer. It wasn't easy since they all were good answers. You both seem to agree that I can handle it on this PSU. I guess it shouldn't be a problem because I'm really not powering that many components and the power supply is 80 plus certified. Just for the heck of it, I'll report back after I get it to let anyone, who is interested, know how it runs. Thanks for the help.

I picked the card up today and so far it is working great! Seems that the power supply was enough after all. This card is a major improvement over my 7850 1gb oc. Probably not even going to bother oc'ing the card since it gives me well over 60fps on ultra at 1080p.
