Hi, I just bought an Samsung SSD 120g.

Currently I have a 1tb HDD with everything on it. I kinda need a step by step of how to just boot up my OS from the SDD but almost everything else from my HDD (except a few games). The problem is when I go to make a "clone" I do not have enough space (it's not even close). Additionally, I do not have my original OS software so I cant start fresh, it must have been lost when I moved.

So is there a way to just clone my OS and always boot it up?

I'm just learning about SDDs and what it can do for me so please be patient. Any help is appreciated!!

Hi,

I still do not understand how I'm supposed to do any of this without having my original OS install. I'm still very new at all of this so when it says "partitions" I have NO IDEA what this is.

So could someone explain, in detail, how to "1.Move data off any non-OS partitions from OS HDD and delete these partitions."?

as well as
2.Shrink the OS partition to fit the new SSD.
3.Make an image of the OS partition to a 2nd or external HDD.

I think I could get it from there but these steps I don't know where to start.

Thanks
