Hello so i been looking to go intel i have pretty much choosen the i5-4760k and the asus maximum vi hero mobo.

So what is like the big diffrence between these two asus mobos, in form of overclocking, sli/xfire and so.

Asus Maximus VI Hero

Asus Z87-A

Solution
The differences aren't major, the overclocking may be a bit better on the ROG, but is it worth the price? Probably not, if you can afford it get the Hero, if you could use the money for a better GPU/CPU do that and get the Z87-A

I got alot of suggestions and good reviews on the hero and i can afford it if i wanted with the i5-4670k cpu but i was just thinking, is it worth the "premium" or could i go with a cheaper and still get like everything?

Motherboards are like the hardest part always to pick as they all are so similar still so different, with small extra features and when it comes to overclocking its even harder to pick a mobo.

here is the rest of my specs

cpu: amd fx-4100 OC 4,2 Ghz
mobo: asus m5a99x evo
ram: kingston 16gb 1333 mhz 4x4 gb sticks
gpu: Gigabyte radeon HD 7970 oc 1000 mhz
storage: 120 gb ssd 60x2 ocz and 1tb normal hdd
cooler: antec kuhler 620
case: fractal design core 3000
psu: 730w thermaltake SP-730AH2NH
optical drive: LG bluray station
fan controller: Lamptron Fan Controller FC5 V2

i already have all the components listed in spec just gonna uppgrade mb+cpu now otherwise i am really happy with my system, atm i am happy with it no problems at all just gets bottlenecked by my cpu, so can get so much more fps in games when i go intel .

I have been thinking about getting an gigabyte R9-280x and crossfire it with my gigabyte 7970 later, but i will most likley get a new psu then too but i only play at 1080p atm, will later maybe update to 1440p or 1600p ips, or go 3 monitor setup not sure thats no issue right now, so atm on just asus 27" 1080p my gpu is enough
