Is this power supply enough for my new rig ?

Hello , I'm planning on having a new rig with these specs :
CPU : i5 3570k
Motherboard : MSI Z77A-G45
RAM : 8 GB Kingston Hyper Blue
GPU : GTX 760 (Gigabyte or MSI , still hesitating)
Storage : 500GB hard drive
And a cheap Optic drive

So my question is : is the Corsair CX 500W enough for this build ?
Because I am planning on OC'ing the CPU to a minimum of 4.1Ghz and to oc the GPU to its max ..

You can always spend a little more and get a bigger and higher quality PSU. $30 for a 500w or $50 for a 700w. Its worth it when you jump from a 40-45a 12v rail to a 60-65a 12v rail. Reliability and future-proof well worth the extra cost.

Not that this is anything like your build, but it does have an estimate on power consumption when you add your components. Looks like you will be well under 500. Keep in mind that USB mice/keyboards, etc as well as other PCI cards will add more to watt usage. My other comment still stands.

No haswell because the combo haswell + lga 1150 is more expensive and I have a restricted budget .
As for the XFX , they don't sell them here where I live .

Yes but I want a motherboard which overclocks well..and only the Z87 can do that pretty good,but they are really expensive here .. That's why I'm opting for the i5 3570k combo ..

The GTX 760 requires a minimum of 550W and to not put your computer under strain you want to have 100W free

I'd reccomend the MSI N760 GTX 760 Hawk, has better clock, better at overclocking than the Gigabyte 3x but the Gigabyte 3x has a slight edge in cooling. Still the MSI N760 Hawk is the better bargain by far

Yes all the GTX 760 are great,I won't have a problem picking one up,still the motherboard is the most important for now as I want to overclock to 4.2Ghz easily without any problems (I never overclocked CPU before but I will search for some easy guides)
So is the GA-B85-HD3 up to the task ? Is there any other mobo cheap and which can overclock with no problem ?

As for the Power Supply,I think I'm going for the Corsair CX 600W just to be more safe.

I fail to see the point you were trying to make. The price/performance choice is the 3570k, sure you can pair a haswell chip with a cheap board and call it cheaper. But Tom's wrote that guide based on prices and how much GAMING performance you can get from them for the cost. Theoreticals say the haswell is 10% or so faster than ivy-bridge but that doesn't translate into ACTUAL performance for games. Again, I fail to see your point. Tom's actually bought many of the boards and CPUs and tried them. I'd believe Tom's over most people and that's why we are on this site.

must say this. OC is not giving you nothing benefit over the Xeon 1230V3
You must OC over 4.5 to get 4670k any faster than xeon.

To do that you need good expensive cooler. And good cpu.
So xeon is like "sleeper" really fast but cheap.

But if you want OC then buy good mobo. Good cooler. Good memory.
Good case. Good psu..

And with xeon you can say to your mates I have faster cpu than your OC one :D Now it takes less wattage it runs cooler.So it best for any task you do with pc. you will save by using less electricity
Your machine is working longer time stable when you do not have to or you do not need to overclock it.

This means longer working pc. Or do you really want to overburn your pc in year? Mobo can fail. Cpu can fail.. Anything can fail. Think this too :)
And remind you need to over 4.5 to get it k cpu faster than xeon.

I have not seen any test that Tomshardware have done with xeon cpu.
Why is that? All new games will benefit more and more of HT + 8 Treads. like new BF4. So why you think it is good buy old crap?

New 1150 mobos are much better than old 1155.
If you say that 3570k do OC better. Then I say 2500k did OC better than that. OC do not make much benefit in games. Better buy faster video card to get that same benefit.

As you can find out these benchmarks 100MHz faster is not much faster
So OC is not getting you so much benefit as you might think.

3570k and 4670k are not even close to that.

But sure you want OC then it is good for you.

Yea I answered it in the first post, you can use the CX500. Last line. I always suggest a higher amp rail, but the CX500 will run that setup that you listed. They are also $30 on newegg with a rebate, but I'm not sure you can get that rebate where you live or from the site you get it from.

Now about the motherboard, there are 2 choices which have the same price here : Asrock Z87M-Extreme 4 and the MSI Z87-G43 ..
Which one is better overall ? and for a good OC

To OC your 3570k you will need a board with the Z77 chipset, those are Z87. The ones you listed are haswell boards. Try:

All these boards have USB 3.0, RAM OC, OC for CPU, but the best one that is cheap is the MSI Z77MA-G45 Micro ATX LGA1155 Motherboard because it says it has Crossfire and SLI support, which is the only one out of these.

Now for the GTX 760 , I think I'm going to take the Gigabyte one as it is less expensive than the MSI ..
And I think I'm going to take the Corsair CX 600W just to be safe ..
