pls i nid help. I want to purchase an external soundcard for my church computer that will be very good for recording live singing sessions like praise, worship or choir piece. Any help on exatly what it wil cost to get it done? We have all instruments like mics, drums, keyboard, mixer etc, what we need now is a PC and other gadgets for recording. Our budget is between $800 and $1100 (including PC). Tnx

So do you want to be able to take the stereo output mix from the mixer, once it's all mixed down, and then just record that, or do you want to be able to take all the separate channels and record each channel and later mix them on the PC. It's a big difference if you only need 2 inputs or 16 or 32 or 48. Also, depends on what mixer you have. If it's a modern one that has 16 outputs, or a Toslink or firewire output for all the channels, that opens things up a lot.

Also, do you plan on editing the audio on the PC and do you need software for that.
