Hello, I am planning to upgrade my GPU, but i would like some feedback.
First things first, my specs are

MSI z87 MPower (Motherboard)

4670k@ 4.5ghz (58C max after 1 hour using prime 95 large ftts heat test)

Seasonic X-1250 80Plus Gold 1250W (PSU)

Corsair Vengeance pro 12GB @ 2400 MHZ.

NZXT Phantom 820, NZXT Kraken x60 /w 4 fans, 140mm 122CFM 2.8MM static air pressure Bitfenix fan x6, and 200mm 152CFM 0.95mm static air pressure bitfenix fan x2 (Case, Liquid cooler, and fans)

Now, I'm having trouble deciding between r9 290x Crossfire or r9 290 Crossfire, the issue with the 290x in crossfire is that I'm concerned with heat, since from the look of the reviews you cannot overclock them very far due to heat restrictions, and therefore they would perform worse than an overclocked 780 lightning. However with the r9 290 in crossfire because the chips are less (loaded up) it would generate less heat and give you more grunt when overclocked as opposed to an overclocked 290x (And would of-course cost less)

However, i do anticipate a price drop on the GTX 780 and titan. If the price on the 780 lightning drops enough (ie 600$ vs the 550$ 290x) i would just SLI the lightnings.. So I guess my question is, does anyone know what the 780 and titan will drop to?

Thanking you in anticipation! (PS Sorry for the bad grammar, I'm tired)

28nm is almost at EoL(end of life).
All these cards coming out of TSCM are based on 2011(late) technology.
I wouldn't invest much in new GPU's, unless you really need them. I'd wait for the next generation 20nm cards in early 2014(hopefully). nVidia (Maxwell) and the Radeon R9-3XX series.

Will a 280X last you the winter? A $300 dollars GPU is junkable; but $1000+ would hurt.
