I have a 7970ghz currently running a 27" 1440p and a 27" 1080p. Gaming on the 1440. Win7.

I'm hoping to do is hook in an old 4870x2 I have laying around in order to be able to run a third 1080p monitor, and if possible hook it up to my LCD TV as well (I know the 7970 could run the 3 monitors, but I'm trying to allow it to use all it's horsepower on that 1440p).

Is this possible? I've gotten the impression different series of ATI drivers don't play well together. I didn't want to tear into my rig until I had some feedback. I've read/been told of similar scenarios working with nVidia cards in Win7, but no one seems to have tried with ATI.

Thanks all!

Also side note, 3rd display would primarily be a display for streaming and 4th would be for either skype (this is for a lan party and some guys are VPNing in) or movies and media.

FYI, hopefully so I can help someone else having a similar issue in the future, I found it wouldn't work as I was hoping.

4xxx series GPU's from ATI are considered 'legacy' GPU's and the drivers will be ignored with any GPU 6xxx series or later installed in the same system. The newer model takes over, and even though the legacy card will be identified by your system it won't operate through the Catalyst drivers.
