Earlier, I had my i5 3570K CPU overclocked to 4,2GHz using the turbo multipliers. Everything worked incredibly well until I decided to try out overclocking my corsair vengeance RAM. As soon as I tried upping the frequency of the ram, the computer refused to start which eventually led to the bios booting in "last bootable state". It was all fine again and all settings seemed to have gone back to the settings of my 4,2GHz overclock. Here's where I encountered the problem. This morning I wanted to overclock my CPU to 4,3GHz, again, using the multipliers. I changed nothing except for upping the multipliers to 43. Saved options and rebooted, went into bios to see if the frequency had changed - it hadn't! All settings were the exact same as prior to the reboot (multi at 43 etc), but it still said the CPU ran at 4,2GHz. So I thought it was just a temporary bug and ran another restart - exact same thing. CPU-Z said 4,2 as well... I tried downclocking a bit, tried out 4,0, 3,9 - but nothing worked, it still said it was working at 4,2GHz. The only thing that kept on changing was the multiplier adapting to whatever I set it to.

Oh and btw, not sure if it makes a difference, windows recently told me my win7 is fake.
I'ts not. I've installed win 7 with the upgrade key I used to upgrade from XP, just haven't had time to call MS to fix the problem.

Anyhow, is there anyone who has a clue what could have gone wrong?
