Its so confusing, my mind was fully towards to the 660 but now i am stuck between 7870 vs 660 which one is better

my PSU isnt that good but i know it will power the gtx 660

tell me if 7870 will work with my PSU -

PSU LINK for details -http://www.flipkart.com/cooler-master-thunder-500w-500-watts-psu/p/itmdbm7fefnpygyn?pid=PSUDBM7EDH7YSFTZ&otracker=from-search&srno=t_1&query=cooler+master+thunder+500w&ref=e3d98fb5-b0ed-4e9d-ab07-44b9e1048108 - cooler master thunder 500W

rest of the rig -
fx8120
8gb ram
gigabyte 970a

P.S- I know that the 660 will work with my PSU but will 7870 work properly?

Well, as far as which one is more poewful, that would be the 7870, but only by a margin. Take a look here and Ctrl+F the two cards to find them:

If you could afford the extra cash it would be worth getting a 660Ti, just a suggestion?

I would say that you would probably just about get away with a 500W PSU, but I'd go to this site and input all of the applicable info just to make sure:

Whatever the result comes out as, add about another 50-75 watts to be safe.

Hope this helps!

FYI, if you go with the 660 you get the added bonus of being able to use PhysX in certain games, such as Borderlands 2 and the upcoming Watchdogs. =)

500w minimum for the 7870 and performance wise the 7870 is slightly better so its down to cost and personal preference. I am bias towards Nvidia as i have always used Nvidia cards plus I like physx support of the Nvidia cards so it hurts me to say that the 7870 is slighty better than the 660.
