(build listed at end, sorry for funky format, will tidy this up very soon)

Looking for some opinions on a few things. I've been having a lot of trouble with my last build and have yet to figure what exactly was wrong. I figured it might just be really bad luck on my part since, we'll if u knew me and what I've had to deal with tech wise you'd probably say the same as many.

I did a lil' reading and it seems a lot of people are unhappy with the product, its been plaguing me for what feels like a year and a half now.

What do you guys think about asus, their tech support/customer support, and their products? More specifically their mobos. I have a rampage IV extreme from them, I loved my sabertooth x58.

Ill try and sum up my problems... I decided on the rampage IV extreme sometime in December of last year, maybe the year before? It was either that or a gigabyte mobo I was gonna pick. I wanted this build to have a high end mobo that would last me as long as possible and get me into OCing my setup comfortably down the road. The gigabyte had plenty of info online from users complaining about tons of issues and getting faulty mobos. It didn't sound good so I went with Asus.

Since I put the build together I've been having issues though. This was my first build entirely on my own, I decided on every last part and installed it all, it's been a good experience I guess u could say. My goal was to get a build together for bf3 when the beta hit. I was hoping to run the build with maxed settings in nvidias 3d surround vision, or just in surround or 3d vision at the very least.

First problem came when trying to just run 3d vision on one monitor, terrible fps, and eventual crashing. Main issues were running into windows startup repair utility on reboots. Had a friend help me troubleshoot it. Turned out a GPU was damaged and was causing the startup repair, and showing what he called fragmentation.
I sent that GPU to EVGA got it back only to find out of a messed up pciex16 slot (1) and it messed up another GPU.
1 repair later and 2 GPU (both) replacements later I'm troubleshooting again with another person. This time I try everything we can find/think of to figure out what's wrong, short of trying the CPU in another mobo. According to my friend it seemed like possibly the RAM.
I tested each stick in memtest in an entirely different build with no issues.

Life got a lil' busy, gave up on bf3 but the build could never properly run any game I played. CPU running usually between 10-20% according to the win7 gadget and ram never more than say 70%? But at least I wasn't running into the startup repair utility every time I restated the system.

Now bf4 is coming out and still after going through two computer guys/tech, having two of the smartest computer enthusiasts I know troubleshoot it, and a self proclaimed IT friend from online do the same, oh and even a few very helpful very friendly people on here try, I think I have a loose end of a conclusion.

According to all the reviews I've stumbled across (I know newegg isn't a review bible to go by) I think I may just have gone through 2 faulty mobos that were the source of all my problems...
I don't know what else to think so feel free to try and figure it out with me if u want.
I'm gonna try and move forward though. I won't be getting another Asus mobo for a while, and gigabyte scared me off a lil' but I've had good mobos from both companies.

I was saving up for new GPUs, but I think I should spend what I've saved on a new mobo. My ram from this last build works fine in another build, and as far as I can tell everything but the mobo works fine too.

Anyone care to help me figure out what mobo to get with my new goal in mind? The new goal is to run bf4 as high as I can on either nvidias surround and or nvidias vision once I finish replacing the mobo and buying a GPU or two, and possibly some new ram from corsair.

Okay so that was much longer of an explanation than I had planned, but i tried, and with my phone no less lol.

I'm figuring once the mobo issue has been tackled, I'll be getting a new GPU followed by a 2nd identical one, and then possibly some new corsair memory.
I have corsair link and love the whole thing, it's been a rocky road but corsair has been willing to hold my hand the whole way, and it's not like its hard to get their help thank god.
My whole angle on my builds has always been focusing on the next upgrade to get more out of my build, so that's why I've had the whole, "get a part to last me was long as it or I can" mentality.

Anyways to sum up, I need help picking a new mobo to run my other parts on, that hopefully i can use to safely/carefully learn to overclock with, and get me as close to my goal if not farther if at all possible.
And please I'd love to hear what u think was wrong with the last build/mobo, and what u think of my (sort of) conclusion.

The main reason for wanting to move forward instead of calling up Asus is because I stream a lot, game a lot, and am overwhelmed with family and health issues. It just doesn't feel worth busting my ass to get this nightmare sorted out when I can just try to start over I guess.

executive summary? sry never heard that before :p

last time i installed OS? god... maybe a few months back maybe 6, ive installed win7 over 10 times (32bit, 64bit, home premium, ultimate, torrented, legit, flash drive, disc), the gpu and startup utility issues persisted the entire time, and with every install i couldnt run the bf3 on max setting let alone 3d vision or surround sept for maybe a couple times, id kill to have been able to play in 3d and surround

just updated thread
