Ok so I have the I7 4770k with the MSI Z87-G43 mobo. It's possible to overclock but there are so many options, I don't want to break anything! :p
I'm not sure if this option is there with all mobo's but I have the ability to have a turbo, so the I7 is clocked at 3.5GHz but when needed it will go up to 3.9GHz.
Could I just change what the turbo goes up to? It would be the same as overclocking the entire CPU right?!

I have that MB with the i5 4670 CPU and it handles OC rather nicely!

To answer your question, yes, you can increase the Turbo multi in the BIOS.

Well i'm currently running the stock but if i do overclock going to be buying a new one. Was just going to see whether my computer can handle the OC first.
