Yes, you can install Ubuntu inside of Windows, but it doesn't give the amount of options that you'd want, the USB installation does however, partitioning is hard to do for some people new to Linux, you're probably going to want to go to the Disk Management in Windows, and shrink the C Drive partition to make a new "hard drive" then format it to fat32.
Boot it up, select that newly formatted drive, and then you can dual boot, it should install GRUB automatically, which will show your Windows and Ubuntu installation, for which you can boot up on.
