I bought a monitor coz my other croked.

Ive recently got into gaming.
The pq is great, but Im wondering what the refresh rate is for this monitor.
Its a 1920x1080 23".

Under spec it reads as, .... Frequency Fh = 24 ~ 83 kHz ; Fv = 50 ~ 76 Hz.

I thought that size screen and 1080p would give 60 hz ?

So what is the refesh rate ? Can it go upto 76 ?

I have an Asus HD 7970 DirectCU II TOP 3072MB GDDR5.Im using dvi cable.

On a side note ......
The connections for the card dont have hdmi but the card came with 4 Display Ports.When I use the provided dvi to hdmi adapter the screen goes blank(using my own hdmi cable), but works fine with dvi to dvi cable.
Am i right in thinking that the only difference between dvi and hdmi is audio ? Dvi doesn't transmit sound but hdmi does ?
Would dvi to hdmi adapter transmit sound if i could get a connection with it ?

For an LCD monitor, keep it at 60 refresh rate. Using DVI just fine, a converter will not help you with sound since once it hits the DVI connections, there is no way for sound to get though it.
