Hi guys,

a few weeks ago I made a thread about upgrading my PC so that I can run MMO games smoother, and with higher graphical settings. I got a helpful response explaining that I should buy these considering my budget was only around £300.

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-990f...
http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/amd-cpu-fd6350frhkbox

my PC at the moment has these specs - Processor: AMD Athlon II X2 260 Processor 3.20 GHz
RAM: 8.00GB DDR3
Motherboard: Foxconn 2AB1h with AM3 socket (i think that's correct)
Graphics card: ATI Radeon HD 5450

I've never changed a motherboard or processor so i'm wondering what effect that will have on my PC and if would even be compatible with other components with my PC, I don't know very much about computers...

thanks
Robin

If you "only" change the Processor, Mainboard and the Graphics Card, it shouldn't be such big of a problem, because the System is still on your Harddrive. But since you said, you don't know a lot about Computers, I don't know if you can do it yourself. But maybe if you watch a couple of Youtube Videos and have a second Laptop on your side to look something up, you should be able to build it. Just don't mix the cables! I would say, that it is a good setup, as long as you have a good CPU cooler, because the fx6350 gets really warm! You can still do it with a boxed cooler, but it will be loud and really hot inside!

Wut? 100-240W?! Wrong sign...What is the name of it or just write all the watt numbers on it, because it has to be a specific number...and 100 WAtts is a lot too less!

You should not build upgrade that PC yourself, if you think that you PSU has 100-240W...

How many watts does your PSU have? But I am pretty sure you could need a new one, because the fx processors take a lot of power!

I think, you should get a better PSU too. 300 Watts will be too less for the new parts...I would recommend 500-600 Watts supplie. For Example the Corsair CX series. They are pretty cheap and good.
