would a GTX 690 be able to max everything out in BF4 at a 1920 1080 resolution on a 120 Hz monitor

here are my specs

Intel core I7 2600k 3.40 Ghz
16 Gb 1600Mhz ram
Gtx 690
Windows 7 64 bit

oh my motherboard is a bit old so its not pci express 3.0 it only 2.0 but i read that the difference is minimal anyway

thx to anyone WHO helps

I'm a bit late on this thread but, for what it's worth, I run BF4 on a 2K monitor with one EVGA GTX 690, i7-2600k & 8GB RAM. I have to tone down a few of the graphics settings but it still looks amazing and I get around 80fps (I find the GeForce Experience recommendations work well for this game) . On 1920x1080 you should be able to max it all out no problem and get good frames

Get PCI 3.0 mobo then I will say yes...oh and while you're at it get a new I5 Cpu.

I don't think you know how freaking powerful a gtx 690 is. Dual GPU on a single PCB....it even beats the titan in performance.

The 690 is a fantastic card, and is slightly more powerful than a titan (and much more power hungry). As long as Nvidia's drivers deliver, I see no reason why it won't max out BF4, aside from it maybe fully utilizing pci express 3.0.

yes it should be more then enough. There is no need to upgrade to a new cpu, your cpu is already very powerful, and its not worth it to get a new pcie 3.0 motherboard.

Not to make a huge deal of this comment but you are digging up a solved thread dating back to October of last year just to mention your opinion of a comment that was posted and then corrected by other members of this forum. Yes I stand corrected regarding the PCI 3.0 and the processor however the GTX 690 is the fastest card out there at the moment and does outperform anything on the market. He will be able to run his game no problem at 1080p with a GTX 690. Now if your point, in this forum, is to dig up old threads that have been solved and post a useless comment that adds nothing to the conversation then I might suggest you getting another pass time. Say something with content or just don't say anything at all. Explain your comment with information that isn't complete shit.

I'm well aware that the 690 is the fastest (or near/par with the 7990), saying he should get (will get better performance out of) an i5 is completely false and an uneducated response; the i7-2600K performs better than ANY i5 period.
"Get PCI 3.0 mobo then I will say yes..." - PCI-e 3.0 gets 0.3FPS more than PCI-e 2.0 in BF3 Ultra settings @2560x1440, so there is a 0.16% FPS difference meaning there (nearly) isn't a difference. I'm not trying to dig up old threads and cause problems, but you posted an uneducated comment that could put a buyer out quite a bit of money for no performance upgrade.

Yes Kaio37k and I did my research after repeated comments by other posters that there was an insignificant difference between PCI 3.0 and 2.0 (unless you would like to go the route of a multi GPU build which is unlikely in this case because of the premium of a 690)
The i7 2600k is a great processor but it is already in its 3rd year and considering an upgrade soon isn't a bad idea. I should of elaborated my post and I am guilty of not going further into detail. Ultimately this post was focused around the GPU and that has been answered well enough by everyone.

I thank you Kaio37k for elaborating your previous comment. Although I lacked the particular knowledge about the PCI 3.0, I do not think it would of been a bad idea to upgrade a system that is already 3 years old.
