Recently my friend has bought gold thermal paste, he paid 4€ for 3g.
What's the difference between gold and silver thermal pastes?
Should i put that thermal paste to my processor? [I5-4670k]
I'm going to overclock to about 4GHz.
The thermal paste is called: CMP-COOLPAST30
Many thanks.

Well looking at it chemically, silver is more conductive than gold. But For thermal paste you are best off with some Arctic Silver 5, I have it and I am pretty pleased with it. You can also get some if the MX series Thermal paste which is ridiculously good

Hi

There does not seem to be much gold in the paste as pure gold bullion costs about £27 / gram (UK pounds)
or $40 /gram (US Dollars)

There have been a number of group tests on thermal paste at Toms Hardware
If I remember correctly salad cream was quite good when tested a year or so ago

this leads to latest group test
