I have an Asus p7p55 ws supercomputer motherboard , and some really strange and bad things happened lately, i would want to tell my story, but its long and i don't really know how things work around here..

The thing is, i have been using an i3-560 OC'ed @ 4.2 ghz with 2x2gb Kingston HyperX Black Limited Edition , DDR3 1600 (XMP) 7-8-7-20 latencies.

It worked perfect for more than 1 year, and around 1 month ago, i wanted to get more ram. so far i tried : 2x8gb kingston kvr, 2x8gb kingston hyperx beast 1600, 4x4 kingston hyperx beast. After the system failed to start with each of theese options, i tried getting a kit from the Mobo QVL list, but the same thing happens.

When i insert all the ram, for example 4x4gb, or 3x4gb for the QVL kit(KHX1600C9D3K3/12GX) , the system hangs at POST right before the ram count.. but if i insert just 1 stick, i get blue screen either BAD_POOL_HEADER or IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.

After many attempts to make it work, voltage increase and decrease, BIOS reset etc.. eventually the CPU crashed, got a BAD BIOS CHECKSUM when turning on the PC, tried another mobo ( P7P55-LX ) same thing there also. I bought a brand new i3-550 , and now i get the same thing.

Memtest doesnt work, it stops less than a second when the test starts, at 17% , 32% and just hangs there. Tried on a brand new Gigabyte GA-P55-UD3L , which also has the 3x4gb kit on its QVL, same thing happens in Memtest, and windows freezez at Starting Windows, just before the 4 colors should appear, instead of the blue screens.

I dont know what to do, i'm desperate, im afraid to get another memory..

Any help would be appreciated.

Intel lists i3-560 Memory Specifications as using DDR3-1066/1333. The memory controller is in the CPU. The motherboard QVL may be using a better CPU such as an i5 or i7. It looks like your overclock is failing when you populate more than 2 memory slots with 1600 memory.

There's a Gainward GTX580, tested it on other systems as well as the PSU, and anyway the system boots with the old ram. with this graphics card and PSU.

I tought about that Cavin7, thing is , i'm not trying to overclock, not with the new i3-550.. and the system does't work with the auto Dram frequency, which is 1333 by default.

Tradesman1 , i will try and i'll post the result.

Thank you all for your help.

I tried, same thing happens, with 3 sticks.

With 1 or 2 sticks , the sistem hangs at POST.

Damn chipset, it's given me nightmares.

And yes, it has the latest BIOS.
