Hi all,

I'm looking to build my first PC and was hoping to get some advice off some people with more knowledge than me.

Ideally I'd like to be able to use this PC to run BF4 at 1920x1080 on a single monitor at decent settings. I will also use it for some Photoshop/Illustrator work, as well as general programming in Eclipse and other IDEs. My budget is £900.

The proposed build is as follows:

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor (£167.99 @ Aria PC)
Motherboard: ASRock Z87 Extreme3 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (£99.27 @ Ebuyer)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2133 Memory (£66.47 @ Amazon UK)
Storage: Samsung 840 Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Disk (£128.05 @ CCL Computers)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (£62.09 @ Amazon UK)
Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 280X 3GB Video Card (£225.94 @ Scan.co.uk)
Case: Fractal Design Define R4 (Black Pearl) ATX Mid Tower Case (£76.99 @ Amazon UK)
Power Supply: Corsair Enthusiast 650W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply (£76.38 @ Scan.co.uk)
Total: £903.18

Although I've ordered the i5-4670K, I'm not in any rush to overclock it. I was thinking I could buy an aftermarket cooler and overclock it at a later date to save on the initial build?

Also similar story with RAM, if I found I needed more than 8GB I could add another 2x4GB at a later date.

Any advice/suggestions on how to improve this build would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Looks fine.. you don't need an aftermarket cooler if you are not going to overclock.

But why would you pick 2133mhz ram? Cheaper 1600mhz ram will be sufficient; you are not going to see any difference.

Cheers for the advice guys, it's reassuring to know I'm on the right lines. I'll drop the RAM down to 1600Mhz and probably buy a £25 Cooler Master cooler at a later date for some moderate overclocking, as well as adding a Blu-Ray drive when I've got some spare cash.
