Power up the machine and check in BIOS that USB Legacy Support is a valid setting and is enabled. Some older BIOS don't have that faciity and if yours is one of those, USB Ports are not enabled until teh operating system cuts in.

the system now goes past the last point and says press enter to load a platform. so here is the next thing . now if I press enter it says no hardware detected. so if that's the case why is the drive active? also it shows on the raid screen just before disc boot. thinking I should go to a shop let them fix it. I never have an issue with pc's that just boot n load a platform. but this one stumps me?
The floppy drive will seem to be active as long as it has power to it so it doesn't mean the system has accepted it as a valid drive. Back in BIOS, is it shown there and is Legacy Support now showing up as Enabled? The next problem could well be is the disk itself a valid bootable floppy?

i am going to copy out in a short while what each screen says and does. manually if we do screen by screen then should be able to get this board runnin. i know it works as a mate had it from my build years ago. he gave me the discs then but had not got them now
