Hello , Im building my first PC from scratch ,so far ive only chosen the case ,i will most likely order this one ;

Silverstone SST-RL02B-W-USB3.0 Redline Series ATX Tower Case

i imagine that getting the case and using whatever parts i got from older computers and whatever other source might workout for me; to save cash and upgrade in the future as the money comes and or i find deals ,etc. For instance building the first phase of the computer with a good case + other component of most importance( mother board?) then using the rest of the parts from my old computer until i have the means to upgrade them, does that make any sense?

I am a tech noob here so pardon if the idea sounds silly , I have four 2.5 laptop hdd's(250gb) equaling 1 terabyte and im hoping to use these as my storage

Im aiming in eventuality to have a very fast computer , to work with alot of softwares , including , music editing , (and possibly video editing and just maybe gaming one day..., ) but i realize in my situation its a trek to the top of a mountain

I chose the case(havnet bought yet) because in my research it was the most appealing ; its a good price range and it seems to have good qualities not to mention that its look would fit right into my room but its got best review ratio ,ive not heard anything negative about it

so is it possible to use my old dell parts on my new computer ? is it a good idea?

and amongst every-other component what mother board would you recommend ?

Thank You

The Corsair CX series are good on a budget, and go on sale quite often. Try to spend the extra 5 or 10 bucks to get the modular versions though, besides being modular, they're made by a different company than the non-modulars and are better quality
