Hello. I'm looking to build a gaming pc within the next 2 weeks. I've been doing my research for a little while (still a noob) and I'm gonna go with an i7 3770k. not really sure on what motherboard i should go with. as for a gpu, i wanted to get the gigabyte 7970. I wanted to go with the nxzt phantom case. a samsung 830 series ssd (128gb). and thats where I'm at so far. I'm looking to spend about $1200-1400, maybe even a little more. The idea of building a gaming pc is pretty intimidating, please excuse the noob-ness of my questions. I just want to build a beast :)

1) Any suggestions on a motherboard?
2) Is this a good build (am i getting all the bang for my buck)?
3) Are these parts compatible?
4) Any suggestions on any other parts?
5) Please help

Any feedback is much appreciated!!!! Thank you.

They are very similar in performance with the 4770k being only marginally better in performance. Refer to tomshardware cpu charts for a comparison. Also it is my understanding that the 3770k allows you to reach higher clocks when overclocking.
