Hi everyone,

I've had my current computer for a couple years now and it's done me pretty well but it is struggling on newer games. I can run things like skyrim on medium graphics comfortably, and gw2/lol/me1-3 on high, but with lots of new awesome gaming on the horizon i'm looking for more gaming power. I'm wondering if it's worth upgrading it, or if i'd be better off starting from scratch. Preferably i'm not looking to spend too much. I'd rather keep it between $500-$1000.

here are the specs -

CPU: intel core i5-2300 CPU 2.80ghz
Motherboard: ASUS P8P67-M Rev x.0x
Memory: 4.00 GB
Storage: 1500 Gigabytes Usable Hard Drive Capacity
Video Card: AMD Radeon HD 6700 series
64-bit operating system / windows 7

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated! Also if you need more information let me know.

Best, JR

Which GPU depends on monitor resolution. I'm gonna assume 1920x1080. For $250 you can get a 760. It'll max out all games. If you want a little overkill for Crysis 3 or more demanding graphics then a $300 R9 280.

I'd get the 760 and save $50 to put towards a SSD. A 120gb Samsung Evo is $100. 4gb more ram is $30. So.. 250+100+30= $380
