hi,
recently i bought a toshiba 500 GB hard disk to install in my Desktop. After installing the drive i installed windows 7 and used minitool partition magic to split the single Drive in to 3. after specifying size for each of the drives minitool asked me to restart to apply the changes. from the very first boot after that, the computer doesnt do anything after giving the POST beep. I cant access BIOS or do anything while the HDD is plugged in. But i can access the bios once i unplug the HDD.
Can some one plz tell me what happened exactly? I am worried as hell...:(

Do you have a backup copy of all your critical stuff?
If so, I'd just go for a full reinstall, rather than flailing about trying to 'fix' things.

Not being able to access the BIOS would pint to a whole different issue. That happens before the drive is accessed.

the HDD is completely new, so it had no critical data that i needed
i tried to reinstall windows but as i mentioned i cant even access BIOS while the HDD is plugged in
but i can access bios if i unplug the sata cables from HDD
i tried to set CD/DVD's boot device priority as 1st and then inserted windows DVD and restarted with HDD pluged in
it makes no difference and computer again gets stuck at the POST screen with a beep

Device config:
Core 2 Duo E4300
Asus P5GC-MX/1333
toshiba DT01ACA050 500GB
Transcend DDR2 RAM 800
