Hey everyone,

So I am interested in liquid cooling my CPU, and was wondering if I could get some suggestions on parts to buy? If someone could piece together the things I need, I would appreciate it. I am pretty new to liquid cooling. I understand how it works, but I don't know what all I need to get it all running, not familiar with brands and such and their quality and pros and cons and all that...

I have an ASRock 990FX Extreme9 motherboard, paired with a FX-8350 and a Corsair H80i. Currently I am at 1.435 volts and 4.6 GHz, and under Prime95, it's pretty hard on the H80i. But I'm not necessarily wanting to liquid cool for higher clocks, more so for less heat, better reliability/stability, and for the fun and learning experience. Also, it looks pretty cool.

I just want to liquid cool the CPU, nothing else. So can someone recommend the required parts for me (pump, reservoir, coolant, radiator, etc)? Also, my case theme is black/green, and would love clear tubes/green liquid.

They don't need to be the best of the best parts, but I don't want cheap either. My case is a Raidmax Agusta, and there is space on the top for a 120x240mm radiator, and I should have adequate space for everything else. Not really working on a budget here either, so throw me whatever you think will get the job done well for a good price. Thanks!

You will find among the water-coolers here that we wont give out a parts list like we would a system build, as you can understand with water-cooling you want to understand why each part was chosen and not just how to buy the stuff we tell you.

I suggest you start researching here, this will tell you a lot of the theory behind water-cooling.

After reading that, ask any questions you still have and pull together a loop you think will work, and post it here for feedback. I understand my job here to make your [strike]slide into insanity[/strike] transition to water a smooth one, not do it for you.

So did I when I started, the water-cooling bug bites hard.
