I have a wireless internet connection which disconnects as soon as I plug in another network cable. It appears that somewhere there is a setting which stipulates one network only. It worked before but after some changes by some network specialists, it does not anymore. These specialists no longer available. Please help.

You must be mistaken when you say it "used to work like that before".
Windows cannot handle having two network adapters in use at the same time on the same computer.

When you plug in an ethernet network cable, the wireless connection is lost. That's normal and cannot be changed, not even by the "network specialist" that you mentioned.

You can use one or the other, but never both at the same time. Indeed, why would you need both at the same time anyway?
