Hey all

I recently decided to build my own computer for high end multi-monitor high resolution gaming, after doing a lot of research I decided on my parts.

I bought my cpu, motherboard , ram and psu

i5-4670K
GIGABYTE GA-Z87X-OC
:G.Skill Ripjaws-X 16G Kit(8Gx2) DDR3 1600 F3-12800CL10D-16GBXL ( overkill I know but my local computer shop didnt have the 8gb set)
Corsair tx-850

....then I blew my budget for the month. So I put together what I had and waited for my next paycheck to roll round

I had originally decided for the gtx 770 4gb and throwing in a sli down the track. All this time and I have thought to get another opinion.
Will this be enough to run 3x 1920x1080 monitors and down the track 3 2560x 1440 monitors. I am partial to nvidia as I heard they are better for multiple gpu set ups. I don't want to spend more then I need but I don't want to have to upgrade prematurity
I also plan to purchasing a ssd before I install my OS what's the best size for price atm.

P.s I'm also looking into cpu coolers and I'm trying to decide if a want water cooling, how risky is it and is it really worth it. Any recommendations are welcome

Sapphire and MSI already have their own 290x cards but I havent seen what kind of coolers they have on them but given how crucial cooling is to performance, I would hope that these companies did something special to their cooling solutions. But until some reviews come out on individual cards it might be better to wait to see which company offers better stock cooling.

I don't know much about what's involved in setting up a good gpu water cooling system, but EKWB just released a waterblock for...

A single 4gb 770 will probably struggle with three displays, but if you're going to SLI it anyways you'll be fine when you do.

For SSD I would get the 128GB Samsung 840 evo which is about $100. The larger capacity ones are cheaper per GB but the cost will go up quickly as the 500GB is $320 and the 1TB version is about $580

Will dual 770s handle it at max settings on most games keeping in mind next gen consoles? And am I better of getting a single more powerful gpu instead witch only leaves me the 780 and the out of my price range titan.

Yes, two 770's will be sufficient enough to run most games maxed out. A single more powerful GPU is a better option just because the initial cost is lower and you can SLI it later on. However, the two 770s will greatly out perform a single 780.

If you're leaning towards a 780, I would recommend a 290x. The 290x reference card is on par with a titan and improved cooling solutions on it will only make it faster. The 290x is also cheaper than a 780 by about $100. And when the time comes, you can buy another one and CF it.

Well my plan is to only run one gpu till I can afford the 2nd one. I would like not the have to get a 2nd card till I upgrade to 2560x1440 if possible. Also I have heard that there are more complications with crossfire then there is for s.l.i

Wow I just read the reviews on the 290x... it looks great however there seems to be problems with the cooling how long does it take for after market versions to be released. And do you think water cooling is something I should look into
