Preinstalling BF4 to my new SSD from my OLD system

Hey folks,

So I really want to play bf4 at launch. Problem is my new hardware doesn't come in till Monday and I wont be able to put it together until late Monday night. Leaving me to then update windows/install my drivers/etc. If I then have to download and install 20GB of BF4 its going to be the next day

I DO have my new SSD with my OS already installed. If I plug it into my computer then boot from my old OS/HDD can I preload BF4 straight onto the new drive so its ready to play when I am booting my new computer or will that cause problems?

Any other suggestions?

I also have another new HDD that I will be using for storage/games I don't play often. Could I preload onto that if the former wont work?

Thanks for any input

P.S. I'm not just booting from the new SSD and preinstalling that way because windows isn't up to date and I don't want to install all of the drivers from my old hardware onto it. Also, Is there anyway to update windows without installing all of those drivers? I don't get access because I don't have to USB driver loaded yet which allows me to attain a wireless signal. is there some way to download the updates in one big file on another computer and load it that way? or to just get the USB driver without installing everything else?

That will not work.
The new OS residing on the SSD will not know anything about that installation.

That won't work either.

Ok so then my last option is to boot my old system from the new SSD, how can I get the usb drivers installed without installing all my other drivers as well? this will allow me to have internet and update windows as well as preinstall bf4

That may not work either!
What OS is on the SSD and how was it installed? What system was it in when you installed it?

The OS on the SSD is Windows 7. I installed it with my old computer and have done nothing but installed windows and logged in once to make sure it worked.

Is there a chance I will have to reinstall windows once the drive is in my new computer?

That is a definite possibility. Moving a drive between systems with Windows already installed sometimes works, and sometimes fails. And sometimes 'works', but you're chasing driver issues for days.

And if it a Windows OEM version, it really won't work.

In any case, I always recommend a clean install with a major hardware upgrade.
